LI Firewood And Mulch in Hicksville, NY understands the aesthetical and environmental advantages of using topsoil as we work with both commercial and residential clients.
Topsoil, as the name implies, is the top layer of soil on the earth’s surface that is usually 5 to 6 inches deep. It contains organic components such as decomposed roots, leaves, and bugs, that make the soil richer and darker than the layers beneath it.
Most topsoil delivery experts in NY like us, offer two types of topsoil: Straight and mixed. Straight soil has nothing else blended in, as opposed to mixtures containing manure, sand, peat moss, or compost.
Straight topsoil would simply be sifted to remove rocks, roots, and debris before being sold in its natural state. It may naturally have a higher clay or sand content depending on where it came from. If you are concerned about the quality and content, you can request a sample or soil test results before asking for bulk garden soil delivery.
When you use our topsoil in your landscaping project, you are making an investment that will pay off for years to come. The nutrients and vitamins in our topsoil will ensure an amazing experience while creating the ideal landscape for you and your guests to enjoy.
Since our topsoil is screened as needed by our customers, it is fine-grained and moldable for all of your outdoor needs. Soil delivery options offered by LI Firewood And Mulch in Nassau County can complement any landscape.
The topsoil is a high-quality sandy loam soil that has been blended with organic matter to create an ideal growing environment for both turf and seed. We offer customized bulk topsoil options to meet your specific requirements.

Hicksville is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) within the Town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County, New York, United States, on Long Island. The population of the CDP was 41,547 at the 2010 census.
Valentine Hicks, son-in-law of abolitionist and Quaker preacher Elias Hicks, and eventual president of the Long Island Rail Road, bought land in the village in 1834 and turned it into a station stop on the LIRR in 1837. The station became a depot for produce, particularly cucumbers for a Heinz Company plant. After a blight destroyed the cucumber crops, the farmers grew potatoes. It turned into a bustling New York City suburb in the building boom following World War II.
In 1953, Hicksville attempted to incorporate itself as the Incorporated Village of Hicksville. Many residents felt that by incorporating as a village, the community would be run more effectively than by the Town of Oyster Bay. A petition had been signed with 6,242 signatures from residents in favor of the plan.
However, these plans were unsuccessful, and Hicksville remains an unincorporated area of the Town of Oyster Bay.Learn more about Hicksville.
